How I Fight Frizzies On a Rainy Day
Posted 10/06/10 at 04:15PM by Total Beauty
It's raining here today. I love the rain, but my hair hates it. My curls frizz up when it pours, and soon I look like an "SNL" throwback: Rosanne Roseannadanna. Not exactly the look I'm going for.
This morning, I decided to fight back. I tried adding the Herbal Essences None of Your Frizziness Shampoo, $3.99 to my usual cocktail of products -- I was curious whether a shampoo could really make a big difference in my frizz factor. When I walked outside, I noticed my hair didn't instantly turn to fuzz. That was a big improvement. Its humidity-resisting formula must be working -- my kinky hair seemed shockingly tamed.
It's amazing how much your hair texture can affect your confidence. When my hair looks good, I feel great about myself -- like I can tackle the world (which is why I'm soon going to copy the celebrity hairstyles in this lookbook). When my hair looks frizzy, my self-esteem takes a nosedive. I know it's crazy that my hair has this much control over my self-image, but it does. So any product that can help me fight the frizzies gets a big thumbs up in my book.
How do you fight the frizzies? Any products you swear by that I should add to my arsenal?

I used to love the old Herbal Essences shampoos. Next time I run out of shampoo maybe I'll pick up some of this. My hair is a little frizzy (it's somewhat wavy), and needs to be tamed. I usually use a little Johnson & Johnson leave in conditioner to help tame my hair, and make it easier to comb out post shower.

I don't like the new herbal.

My hair is frizzy because of all the humidity down here! UGH!
