Reader Q&A: "How Can I Enhance My Eyes Without a Ton of Makeup?"
Posted 07/15/11 at 07:18AM by Audrey Fine
Just because you're a fan of a site like TotalBeauty.com, doesn't mean that you're necessarily a makeup maven. In fact, many of our readers are unsure of how to apply products and come to us for guidance and tips.
Take Melissa from Illinois, who wrote in to ask, "How can I enhance my eyes without a ton of makeup?" Guess what? We know just how to help her (and you) with this specific query. Here's a quick and painless how-to that'll add definition without overdoing it.
"To enhance your eyes for a day or evening look, without going overboard with products like liquid liner or complicated 'smoky eye' procedures, use a cream eyeshadow that has a luminescent sheen to it in a champagne color," says makeup pro Terri Apanasewicz. "It will give your eyes that pop you're looking for." (Try CoverGirl Intense Shadow Blast in Beige Blaze, $7.49)
You can play them up further (and make them look naturally bright and awake) by curling your lashes before applying one coat of mascara. Try last week's VIP, COVERGIRL LashPerfection Mascara, $6.49. You'll love it.
And, if you're feeling extra ambitious, you can create an overall look by "Using a cream blush in a pink or coral color on the cheek," says Apanasewicz. "Just dab it on the apples of your cheeks using a blush brush so it goes on smooth and blends naturally" (try COVERGIRL & Olay Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Lush Berry, $10.49). And, for lips, "go with a natural gloss -- it's relaxed and low key." (Try COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Marble, $5.99.)

With a perfect brows shape you will need less make-up. Only use of eye mascara and liner will enhance your eye look.

I love a coral cream blush I just bought recently. It sinks right into the skin.
