The VIP (Very Impressive Product) Pick of the Week #37
Posted 12/17/11 at 02:29PM by Audrey Fine
The Product: Crest 3D White Advanced Vivid Enamel Renewal Toothpaste
The Price: $4
The Promise: "Whiten by removing up to 90 percent of surface stains in 14 days with Crest 3D White Advanced Vivid Enamel Renewal Toothpaste. It not only gently polishes away stains, it also strengthens your enamel below the surface for a healthy, lustrous smile."
The Real Deal: I'm realistic when it comes to managing my expectations from a whitening toothpaste. I know full well that in order to get movie star wattage you need to have your teeth professionally whitened. That's why I was wowed by the results I got from using this toothpaste.
While my teeth aren't suddenly dazzling, they have definitely gotten brighter since I started brushing with this paste. And, it could just be wishful thinking, but I'm pretty sure that some of the stubborn caffeine stains I've had for years have started to disappear.
The Upshot: I'll definitely continue to use Crest 3D -- why not? It's affordable, it's safe for the enamel on my teeth, it's effective, and it gives me minty-fresh breath. What's not to like?

I use Crest Whitening Toothpaste plus Scope for good breath, and Supersmile toothpaste to handle the whitening of my teeth and crowns. I have had major dental work, and Supersmile is approved as a whitener for dental work. You don't wet the brush before applying and it does not anything for my breath, hence the Crest, but it really does whiten not only my crowns, but my teeth as well!
