The VIP (Very Impressive Product) Pick of the Week #43
Posted 03/09/12 at 05:32PM by Total Beauty
The Product: DDF Amplifying Elixir
The Price: $70
The Company Spiel: "This universal pre-moisturizing treatment can be used for all skin concerns. DDF's Amplifying Elixir is ideal for women who want to add a boost to their skin care routine," says Howard Sobel, MD. "It helps strengthen the moisture barrier, a critical component of the skin structure."
The Real Deal: I've had freckles my whole life, and they never really bothered me. In fact, I always thought they were kind of cute. Then I went to a new dermatologist who referred to them, without sympathy, as sun damage -- and went on to suggest an array of lasers he could use to zap them away. I was devastated.
These so-called sunspots became my new concern, and I wanted to try the skin care route first. But at the same time I was committed to my products and didn't want to give anything up. Enter the DDF Amplifying Elixir, which I began using underneath my brightening serum. Almost immediately, everything started working better -- my moisturizer was more moisturizing, and that serum started to actually brighten my skin. Sure, the spots are still there, but they're fading. And I'm putting off the lasers for a few more years -- and continuing to use the term freckles.
The Upshot: This one is ideal for anyone who's already happy with her routine, but wants to kick it up a notch. Sure, it's an extra step so it's probably not right for the low-maintenance woman (or man), but if you're into high-tech skin care, you'll definitely want to give this product a try.

I have a few spots right near my eyes that I would like to get rid of. They are too close to my eyes to get done by a laser effectively.

I wonder if there are any products like this out there that are in a more affordable price range? Compared to laser treatments, yes, this is more affordable but I can't afford either the laser or this product....sigh. 3 of my co-workers came over to look at this and just said the same...LOL
