The VIP (Very Impressive Product) Pick of the Week #50
Posted 06/25/12 at 05:05AM by Audrey Fine
The Product: M. STEVES RHSO POWER-PACKED ULTRA-NOURISHING BOOST
The Price: $48
The Company Spiel: "Formulated for the modern woman to intensely hydrate and nourish skin, leave face feeling firmer, and enhance skin's radiance."
The Real Deal: Around the Total Beauty offices lately, all the girls have been extolling the virtues of using oils to help their complexions. Stories of rubbing drops of this oil or that onto their faces punctuate midday salad tossings in the break room and tales of oil-y exploits waft above restroom stalls. I've been atypically quiet, thinking something along the lines of "THESE CHICKS ARE PUTTING OIL ON THEIR FACES?!" but keeping my thoughts to myself lest I seem painfully 10 minutes ago.
Then, after reading a story by my co-worker, Dawn, on the 7 oils you need for a perfect complexion, I decided to give this one particular oil a shot. And, guess what? I love it.
Don't get me wrong, it wasn't easy to wrap my head around putting oil on my face. But once I got over the stigma, I was pleasantly surprised. First, I love that it's not too "smelly" -- even though rose is my favorite, I don't want my face to smell like Valentine's Day. Second, surprise!, the oil isn't overly "oily" and the recommended few drops seep right into my skin, leaving it smooth and dewy -- not shiny and slick-y as I'd feared.
The Upshot: I now understand the allure of facial oils. After three-plus weeks of using this elixir, my skin is definitely smoother and more supple than it was before. And, I'm pretty sure that my overall complexion has brightened, too. Who knew a few drops of oil could be so effective? Now, I'm not about to lube up my entire body just yet, but I am definitely seeing -- and reaping -- the benefits of this cold-pressed bottle of skin-help in a jar.

I'm beginning to love the benefits of oil on my face!

Oil on the body is nice, still not using it on my face though

I've been terrified of using body oil. Lol. I will use coconut oil on my face sometimes but I'd rather use a smooth non-greasy cream..

I do use a body oil and during the winter a face oil. Because my skin is combination, summer months isn't the time to put oil on my face no matter how "dry" they claim it to be!

I can't live without my jojoba oil. One of these days I will break loose and try one of these "magic elixirs".

oooh - sounds AWESOME! I have to try it (though, I'm sure that the idea of "oil face" will freak me out too!) thanks for writing about this - I'd never even heard of it before!
