The 22 year old Dane brings a new meaning to exposure when modeling for Tom Ford
Model Freja Beha Erichsen Frames Her Body for Tom Ford Eyewear Ad Campaign
The 5' 10" model was recently photographed - by Tom Ford himself in the designer's latest eyewear ad campaign that featured some very Hitchcock-esque ravens and Erichsen's partially nude body, breastfeeding a raven. And to our slight dismay (or was it utter discomfort?) it appears the raven cradled in a baby blanket by Erichsen is about to make beak to body contact.
In another photo, the wavy haired model, head cocked, is caught flirtatiously reaching for a kiss from one bird, while her Ford-framed eyes look daringly at the camera. In several photos her body shows a couple bloody scratches (we're guessing, not from her nails), while a cluster of birds flap haphazardly around her slender frame, dressed in a black, halter dress.
While the beautiful Dane still look stylishly sumptuous donning the Ford specs, is it too much body exposure for an eyewear ad?
Also starring in the ads, and less exposed, is British actor Nicholas Hoult, who played in Ford's debut film, "A Single Man" last year.
"Tom Ford," appreciated for its racy style, is likely the only fashion house that could pull off such an outrageously provocative ad campaign for mere bifocals and still afford it sex appeal. It doesn't stray too far, however, from Erichsen's own alluring, dark esoteric allure not unlike her fellow raven models. Seen by many in the fashion world to have an enigmatic, androgynous face and known to have 16 tattoos (she got her first when she was just 16 years old), the 22-year-old brunette has, in this year alone, scored covers on British, French and Italian "Vogue" and joined campaigns for Chanel, Valentino and Balenciaga (she appears with singer-model Karen Elson).
Says model Yasmin Le Bon to "Vogue," "There aren't many dark-haired, dark-eyed girls around so when they do come about they need to be exceptionally good, which Freja is."
It's been such a big year for the Denmark gal, in fact, that New York Magazine's "The Cut," has already called it "the summer [that] belonged to one model, Freja Beha Erichsen." In July 2010, Models.com ranked her second on the "Top 50 Women" list (she beat Miranda Kerr and Chanel Iman).
We consider it no surprise then that Erichsen is the only face to pull off a raven-model hookup in fashion. At least since that Harry Winston collection at Bergdorf Goodman (yes, they put diamonds on stuffed crows).
