Body Tattoos Galore: Rihanna Got One on Her Neck -- And, It's Grammatically Incorrect!

Rihanna got ANOTHER tattoo. But forgot to check with someone who speaks French to see that it was worded correctly.

The hitch? Just like Hayden Panettiere before her, Rihanna neglected to consult with someone who speaks the language before getting words indelibly etched into her skin. Turns out that the phrase "rebelle fleur" is French for rebel flower. Unfortunately, no one told the singer that in that romance language, adjectives follow nouns so her tatt is totally wrong and should read "fleur rebelle" if anything -- although , that's not really a proper French phrase either. Oh, well, she has more skin available to cover with grammatically correct tattoos -- for now at least.
The "Rude Boy" songstress already has a compilation of stars falling down the back of her neck, but her new tattoo is a cryptic phrase on the side of her neck that looks better suited as a mystery clue for Nick Cage to find in "National Treasure."
Rihanna is a tattoo addict as her last tattoo artist BangBang said, "She loves getting tattoos. They mean a lot to her."
In addition to the falling stars down the nape of her neck, the 22-year-old also has "a music note on her ankle, a Pisces sign behind her ear, Roman numerals on her shoulder, a Sanskrit prayer on her hip, the word 'love' on her middle finger, an Arabic phrase on her ribcage area" and a small gun on her right side.
It's safe to say tattoos are a common beauty procedure for celebs and non-celebs alike. Some of the more recent was Miley Cyrus getting one on her ear, while Ke$ha gave homemade ones to unassuming men in hotel lobbies with a safety pin (read about that craze story here). As is the case with most negative publicity, Rihanna's fame only heightened after suffering assault from then boyfriend Chris Brown. Brown faded, but Rihanna kept rising to the top of the charts and now she reaps benefits from the trauma with her newly released single "Love the Way You Lie" with Eminem. The controversial music video features Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan battling it out in what is clearly domestic violence that is romanticized as the angry couple, confusingly, stays together.
Though it's unclear what Rihanna was trying to convey with the new tattoo, Rihanna was seen cuddling and kissing her new beau while picking the design. Maybe it's a declaration of her new love for her new man. Whatever it may be, cheers to the happy couple. May the two of you love in peace.
