Cover Girl Kardashian Bares All, On Her Hair Removal Obsession
In her latest photo shoot for the September issue of "Allure," Kardashian reveals more than just her usual bosomy body to readers. In the magazine, due out on newsstands August 29th, the 29-year-old reality-TV star of E!'s "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," discusses her beauty tips (" sleep, drinking lots of water and a really heavy moisturizer at night"), her life as a singleton and, apparently, her obsession with removing all hair from her body.
"I am Armenian, so of course I am obsessed with laser hair removal! Arms, bikini, legs, underarms ... my entire body is hairless," the one-time Playboy model told Allure.
The shoot, which took place on the roof of photographer Michael Thompson's studio in New York City, featured the Kardashian donning recreated looks from Elizabeth Taylor, including a vintage-y Jenna Leigh Lingerie bra and Theory shorts.
Along with Thompson, makeup artist Gucci Westman was available for the self-proclaimed "beauty fanatic" Kardashian, who despite publicly saying that "makeup is my life," forwent traditional retouching for the "Harper's Bazaar" shoot with photographer Amanda de Cadenet back in May.
"Kim has gorgeous skin, and we wanted to play it up with a luminous look," said Westman of "Allure"'s spread. Westman combined a simple moisturizer with a cream highlighter for Kardashian's cheekbones, nose, and the bow of her mouth. She also added mauve cream blush to give Kardashian "sexy, flushed cheeks." Kardashian's eyelids got a dewy effect from pairing brown shadow with a little lip balm.
Being Armenian, Kardashian also admits relating to more exotic and voluptuous Hollywood figures like Salma Hayek, Sophia Loren and Elizabeth Taylor from her Cleopatra heydays.
"I'm honored to be transformed into Elizabeth Taylor, she is one of my idols," Kardashian told "Allure." "Clearly, Elizabeth Taylor is the perfect definition of what a bombshell is."
Is it safe to say it takes one to know one? You be the judge of that one.
