Nice Eyeliner - won't smudge and really stays on

Know what you're doing when you buy this product
this Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner is a long lasting liner that will take you from morning till late into the evening. On that basis alone I would give it ten stars. If that were the only criteria for buying an eyeliner we could end there. However you have to put the liner on. That is where this product falls very short of the user friendly mark. The gel is fast drying and very unforgiving. You have ...read morelittle time to get it right so practice makes perfect. The brush you use is very important, very thin for working the gel down into the lash line. You don't have the opportunity to smudge the liner as you would a wet powder application or pencil liner. What the Bobbi Brown artist recommends is that you use eye shadow of the same color over the shadow to soften the line if you want a smokey look to your eye. You need a very steady hand and I highly recommend using the short brush so you can rest the bulb of your thumb on your cheek as you apply the gel to your eyelid. Be very careful using this product in the lower eye as you could wind up with a 60's look wither you want it or not. If your going for a sixties look this is a ten star product. Why Have I Not Been Using This Forever?
I am a huge fan of cream eyeliners. I love liquid liners too, and I will even confess to a certain nostalgia for a fantastic pencil. But this liner is beyond fantastic. Super easy to apply with an angled brush, it goes on smoothly and stays put all day long. The color is dramatic without being over the top, and it came off easily with eye makeup remover. I've used this for years & will use it forever!
I have used this gel eyeliner for approx 8 years. I does take some getting used to and a steady hand. I first practiced on a cheeper liner such as Loreal then once I got the hand of drawing a thin line on I moved right into this product. I love it. It last ALL day long. I never need to apply it. I have turned so many of my friends onto this product. I tried the MAC liner b/c it was cheeper. What ...read morea waste. I couldn't wait to finish the bottle. Unlike the Bobbi Brow, the MAC was a dull black and a bit course to put on. The BB gel is creamy & easy to use & the color is sa true black. Neither the BB or MAC bothered my eyes but I felt for $5 more I got more bang for my buck w/BB. I will never switch again!
