Great natural color but...
I do love Tarte cheek stain, but I don't find it to be long lasting and it is quite pricey. I went to Sephora and tried a few shades and I definitely think it is important to find the right shade because some of them made me look a bit clown-like. With powder it almost makes it through the day. I used to always use Burt's Bees cheek color and so far this is the closest cheek color to give me the results I want. Natural, long lasting
I have this in a few shades. I apply it with an angled foundation brush, I swirl the brush over the product apply at the apples and tap it out to blend. Gives a great natural look and more can be added for a deeper color. I work long hours and it lasts all day on my insanely oily skin. Tarte!
I bought a small one of these last year and still have a ton left. Good buy for $10! The color is pretty and sheer, very natural. I did find it goes on a little streaky when used over mineral makeup. I love this stuff. I have it in what looks like a deep reddish color that I think is called Flush, so I was a little freaked out but found it doesn't look that way when you put it on. Love this product! (but make sure you get it on sale)
I have 2 Tarte cheek stains (dollface and blissful). Dollface works really well on my fair skin, Blissful is a little trickier since it's very orangey-red, but I make it work. They are a dream to blend, either by applying directly or onto a brush, and they last all day. I probably wouldn't recommend this to someone with oily skin because it leaves a dewy sheen that might not be beneficial. I only ...read moregave it an 8 because they're so expensive. Great multi-tasker!
This gel-based blush is especially great in the heat/humidity of summer, it adds no oiliness to your skin and doesn't "melt-off"! True Love shade
This was my first ever cheek stain from Tarte. Even though I have oily skin, my cheeks tend to get flaky, and this is even more emphasized if I do makeup without moisturizing enough. It will probably look untidy if the skin isn't moisturized or hasn't been exfoliated in a long time. Apart from that, on a healthy, well-moisturized skin, this applies very smoothly. I apply it directly to my cheeks, lightly at first, then gradually reapplying till I am happy with the amount of color. Then I blend it out towards the temple with my fingers. It has a smooth texture and a dewy finish, perfect for the winter season. I love the natural look!
Tarte knows how to do cheek stains not just right, but right on the money! This pretty coral shimmer stain in a push-up stick just ROCKS! It’s lightweight, it doesn’t settle in my pores, and reminds me just a little bit of a famous NARS blush, only in a stain. Simply Gorgeous
