A Much-Loved Lauder Staple
My mother rarely treated herself to beauty products; she saved her extra money on clothing and items for my sister and me. She had PERFECT skin with absolutely no wrinkles. I recall being in junior high and noticing that she brought home Estèe Lauder's "Swiss Performing Extract" (perhaps she was going through a mid-life crisis and had unnecessary doubts about her complexion). I ran to tell my ...read moreolder sister that the bottle cost $7.50--I was stunned for a single bottle of moisturizer (now I laugh, as the price is $48.00 and that's not considered terribly high)! I "borrowed" a little of the moisturizer as a pre-teen and thought it made my face smooth but in my naiveté didn't know why my mom needed it. Since it has remained in Estèe Lauder's inventory, I bought it for myself (there is an army of loyal followers for this product). Now I understand why this item has been kept. My face is akin to velvet when I use this, and there is a definite increase in elasticity and firmness. The skin-loving ingredients are manifold: Grape seed and apricot kernel oil moisturize, along with hydrogenated vegetable and avocado oils. There is wheat germ, a form of Vitamin E (a powerful antioxidant), and soluble fish collagen for texture renewal, There is dimethicone, a form of silicone to fill in complexion creases and furrows and smooth skin overall. This has a pleasant fragrance and a lightweight consistently. It seeps into skin thoroughly and well, with no greasy feel whatsoever. There is also the benefit of improved skin tone. If I had to choose just a handful of products for my complexion, neck, and décolletage, this would be one of them (it performs very well under makeup during the day). I still laugh at my shock at the $7.50 price tag, but that's also when gas was about thirty-five cents per gallon. That's even more amusing! This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
