If you must use a box dye, go with this one. It works well & the price is reasonable however, it isn't that long lasting. It does leave hair feeling a lot better than any other box dye out there & the colors turn out very well; especially reds & blacks. I can't tell you how many people try to...read more do something dramatic with drugstore dye & it turns out all wrong. As a hair colorist, believe me when I tell you that it takes a lot of time and effort (and $$$) to fix botched home-dye jobs & sometimes, even the best colorist can't make it 100% right after a bad home job. If you're still feeling brave, at least opt to go to an actual beauty supply store & purchase dye there. It's usually cheaper ( if it is more expensive, it's usually just a few bucks more) but it's the same stuff products used at a salon so the finished product will look & last much better. just ok color

The only one that makes your hair smell nice after coloring.
This is the only drugstore brand hair dye that has ever made my hair smell nice after using it. All others have that "after smell" that lasts a couple of days. I think it's the oil concentrate that you have to add to the mix, and that concentrate also makes my feel moisturized during the rinsing out stage, whereas others dyes make my hair feel like hay at this stage. 93 Light Golden Blonde (Honey Butter)
This was the first at-home hair color I ever tried. I got lucky! I ended up with a gorgeous blonde color, not quite as light as the box shows. My hair is naturally a medium to dark blonde. Later touch-ups to deal with roots were easy to execute and always ended with matching color. I actually used this hair dye recently and I chose the wrong color for me as I didn't feel like reddish dyes suit me but the nature it left my hair in left it parched. This even damaged my hair more than Revlon's budget hair dye Color Silk. I actually like Color Silk. For about seven dollars, I could find better hair dyes out there that deliver a better health outcome for my hair and color that shines. I felt this color dulled quite easily and with just a few shampoos, it's pretty much stripped of its own color halfway. The next time I'm in the dye section, I'll leave it up to another brand to satisfy my need for ravishing color. For details about the texture, it's about similar to a lotion but not quite as thick as a cream and one box can usually cover about shoulder length's hair. I've found myself needing two boxes since my hair at the time of posting here is about just a couple of inches above my waist at the longest layers in the back. The scent still smells like regular hair dye although there are claims of formulation with a scent, it didn't do much to ease breathing just as any hair dye would. The conditioner is in a packet which I disliked because I often don't use all the conditioner and perhaps this was intended for just one use but most conditioners I've found in boxes have been in multiple use tubes and I can get about two to three conditionings from it and also be able to seal it back up. For those of you who are choosy about gloves, the latex gloves in the dye box are sturdy and it helps not to have your hands dyed or exposed to any chemicals. Some dyes do just come with plastic, cellophane like gloves and those I find are uncomfortable and not formfitting to use. Anyone allergic to latex may want to skip using the gloves or purchase their own gloves or even skip this box of dye all together since the quality isn't at the best level there should be offered for hair dye. My Second Time Using This...
I really like this stuff. I tried it initially but wanted to wait until a few weeks to see how long it lasted. I read the directions which said to allow some extra processing time (about 5 minutes - really?) for stubborn grays, which seemed ridiculously short and as it turned out, 5 mins wasn't nearly enough time for my grays, as they simply turned a very dark brown and were still noticeable - eve...read moren though I'd left the color on for 20 minutes! But the rest of the color was fairly shiny and my hair wasn't dried or fried, so I was happy. This is a semi-permanent color and my hair is naturally black, so I'm not quite sure if it had actually lasted on the rest of my hair for a full three weeks. There was A LOT of color coming out on my inital wash, a bit more on my second wash and then none after that. I saw this on sale at my grocery store and picked up two more boxes for about $4 each and decided to try again. Just finished with my second try ~ was very careful on application, used a brush and painted it on very thoroughly and waited 45 mins total. No grays showing through at all, fully colored and my hair is back to black and shiny. AND it doesn't smell like cat pee!! I'm very happy. I do seem to have a general sensitivity to hair dye, so the 24 hr wait to wash my hair is hard on me and makes me itch and get a bit rashy on my scalp, so be aware. This also comes with just one packet of conditioner, so you can only use it once. But I love this stuff and was glad I bought it on sale.
