Gross!
I bought this shampoo upon the recommendation of a stylist. I was fascinated by the fact that caviar could be used in a shampoo at all, as I had never even heard of such a thing. I know that marine proteins are supposed to be very good for hair health and growth, so I was very excited to give it a try. I must admit that I balked at the price, but figured that if I would get gorgeous hair out of it...read more, then it would be worth every penny. So, I got home and was super eager to give this stuff a try. A little bit of information about my hair: it is very dry, frizzes unbelievably easy and is so thick that you would think I have the hair of three women on my head. It is medium-long, falling about to three inches beneath my collarbone. I am always trying to grow my hair longer and am willing to spend the money to do it, which is why I bought into this product line. When I stepped into the shower, the first thing I noticed about the shampoo was the scent—it has a difficult to define smell, but it was not too strong and smelled like a higher end perfume. The next thing that I noticed was the lack of lather. I ordinarily use sulfate free shampoos and so am not accustomed to a lot of suds, but this shampoo felt very runny in my fingers and barely made any lather at all. When I went back under the water to rinse it out, it felt sticky, and didn’t rinse clean at all. I kept rinsing and rinsing, but my hair never felt like I got all the shampoo out…it felt like the residue of a cheap soap. Still,.My hair was sticking together in clumps, and was an absolute mess. The huge amount of rinsing dried out my hair. It felt completely wrecked. Avoid this overpriced mess of a product for your hair’s sake! This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Luxury for Hair
I decided to try this shampoo despite having very fine hair that tends to get oily at the roots by day two. I wanted to try a moisturizing shampoo for the winter months to offset all of the volumizing and clarifying shampoos I typically use. I have a couple Alterna styling products that I really like, but this is the first shampoo that I tried. First off, I love that this does not contain sulfa...read moretes. I have a sensitive scalp so I really appreciate shampoos that are sulfate free because they tend to be less irritating. When I opened this the smell was divine. It is one of the best smelling shampoos I have ever used (on par with my favorite from Bumble and Bumble). For being sulfate free, this lathered really well in my fine hair. Although I prefer no sulfates, a good lather is important to me. After using this my hair felt silky smooth and very nourished. It didn't feel weighed down at all either. My oily scalp didn't return any sooner than usual which is what I was afraid of using a more moisturizing formula. When I blow dried, my hair felt silky smooth and still smelled amazing. This bottle is just a bit bigger than the standard Bumble and Bumble bottles and costs almost about $7 more, so it is an expensive product. However, I did prefer the performance of this to the Bumble and Bumble or Pureology shampoos. If you are willing to spend more money on hair care, this shampoo is a great splurge. This makes me want to try more shampoos from Alterna. This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 6 people said helpful
