I would agree with another reviewer; this and Urban Decay are about the best you can get. It also comes in a variety of colors. I have been using the "Candlelight" color and it is really pretty. I would just caution against using too much otherwise your eyelid will appear to be too "luminous" or "glittery" (with this color, anyway), or the creaser can end up creasing itself (hence the 8 rating). H...read moreowever, a little goes a VERY long way. It runs around $20 and this tube will last me the year; maybe even longer! What a bargain when you think about it. The Candlelight is a gold, luminous hue; very pretty on warmer skin tones and in Summer months especially. Although it can sometimes crease itself (I have actually had that experience with all decreasers) it keeps my exceptionally oily eyelids dry and my shadow and liners in place. A little oily but limit/prevent creasing
I recently started using loose powder eyeshadow occasionally, and I noticed that loose powder-based eye shadows do not stay on my lids. A Sephora salesperson recommended me this Too Face Shadow Insurance or Urban Decay Primer Potion. I prefer a squeezable tube, so I got this primer instead. The first a few attempt, runny and oily stuff came out. I rubbed and massaged the tube, then, the consistenc...read morey was a bit better. Still, it feels a bit oily on my lids. What I like about this primer is that it does not change the color of the shadow. Even with this primer, by the end of the day my shadows still don't look as bold and vibrant as when I applied, but this primer prevents creasing and extends the wear of my eye shadows. Eye popping!
Fantastic eye shadow primer. Wears very well.... no creasing, smudging, etc. Coverage that lasts all day and keeps your shadow looking fresh. It's a very good value for the price. I am a firm believer in primers, especiall with my extremely oily skin. I have been using UD's primer potion and really liked it. If it can with stand Michigan heat and humidity and my oily skin, it would work well for anyone. It allows great blending and smudging with eye make up application too, it doesn't make your shadow difficult to work with. Amazing
Everyone seems to be ADDICTED to eyeshadow primers. I love them too, on occassion. I've found that I dont really need it since, I use concealer on and around my eyes and that does enough. Won My Heart...
This is the best eye shadow primers that I've ever used. Works great with a heavy pigmented look and on light shadows, doesn't change the color of your shadow and definitely allows no creases. I've been using this item since it was a new item and it has never failed me, even when I've cheated with other items (ahem, Urban Decay..and i'm a big UD fan). The jury is still out....
I recently purchased two of the Too-Faced eye shadow pallets along with this shadow insurance. I am not quite sold on it yet. When I apply it to the eye lid prior to the eye color, it goes on silky smooth and it has a really nice golden glow to it. I like that I can wear it without shadow if I really wanted to. However, when I apply eye color over the primer, it doesn't feel like it has anything f...read moreor the color to "cling" to. I didn't notice that the eye color went on any more or less intense without primer. It just didn't have the holding power that I thought it would. Like I said, the jury is still out and I continue to use it once in a while. Im In Love!
Awesome eye primer! Its comparable to the Urban Decay Primer Potion. It glides on smoothly and dries clear. This will really lock in your eyeshadow for HOURS on end, no creasing or smudging, but the good thing is that even though it holds color well, its still easy to blend!
