Even after cleansing and toning, these pads pick up bits of dirt from the day on my skin; they allow my nightly AHA moisturizer to be better absorbed, too, I can tell. The smell can be annoying if you find that you'd prefer unscented products- these pads are not infused with artificial fragrance, however, their smell is entirely from the tea tree oil and therefore I don't mind it. The pads themselves are like mini-exfoliators, as well, but they can be "scratchy" if you're rough with them.
