Only for girls that want to add some color
This mascara was a waste for me. It does nothing to add volume and there is hardly any length added no matter how many coats you add. It's not very long lasting and is prone to flaking. I also noticed a weird scent to it which I really didn't like. There is also no "patent, shiny" effect which was the reason I wanted to try this. It does offer a nice black though so if you want a more natural look that involves only some lash darkening, this mascara would be a winner.This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

not a winner
the 3 stars is for the color, ONLY. it is very dark. on the adds i saw 'shiny' and 'patent' finishes promised. i got neither that i could see....nor did i see any especially lengthening attributes. plus it smelt a bit nasty, as the ohter girls noticed and i cant find any reason that might happen. :( all in all, i used it once, saw no results at all, found that single application led to flaking an...read mored threw it straight in the trash. i bought a second tube when i purchased the first time [i always buy multis of new stuff in case its OMG HG] and gave one to my lil sis. she hates it too.This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 10 of 10 people said helpful

10 Best Mascaras -- EVER -
marketing got me!
I was enticed by the clever marketing, only to find out that this mascara didn't thicken, lengthen, nor curl my lashes. This is a very wet formula that can "undo" my lash curling, and it has a horrible rose scent that is overpowering. It wasn't glossy "patent" finish either. waste of money$$$
I used to love this mascara when I was a freshman in high school, but then I feel like they changed the formula or something. It used to do everything that it claimed : shine, volume, and added length. But then, I noticed that it did none of the above after I had re-purchased it. Lacking

It is scented almost like a perfume. I get clumps. The bristles are too widely spaces which causes the eyelashes to stick together more. The bristles are also quite rough. The formula also just didn't seem to make the cut for me as I have sensitive eyes. Lashionista counterpart?
When I first came back to the US I was told by a friend the Maybeline's in the US do not carry my most favorite drug store mascara from Maybeline, Lashionista!!! I was informed that the lash stiletto was the same product but packaged under a different name. This was so not the case. While the lashionist mascara lengthened and volumized my lashes, this product did not. I have to admit the formula f...read moreor this product was pretty good, it was dark and thick, but all it really did was clump up. I tried to blot the wand in hopes of getting off the excess product but it did not help. The formula was really thick and watery so it would smear a lot too. It was heavy and thick and watery, the combination and consistency just made this product odd. I know this product was not water proof and it was supposed to come off easily with hot water but that was not the case. The majority of it did come off when I washed my face with luke warm water but it would stain my skin. I looked like a mess and it would burn my eyes. The formula really stung so I did not use this product again. This was not a dupe for the Lashionista mascara from maybeline, or if it was a dupe I have yet to see any good similarities that would make me love it as much as the Lashionista. It claimed to grow out lashes, it did not, I felt as if the product made my lashes fall out!!! The one thing it did do was lengthen my lashes and make them look very dark and glossy but that was it.
