For years I was using either those makeup removing wipes from various drugstore brands, or I was just using my regular face wash to take off my makeup at the end of the day. I thought this was the best way to do it, but then I read an article on Korean skincare routines. In this article, the author mentioned the use of cleansing oils to take off makeup entirely. This was the first time I had eve...read morer heard of cleansing oils. I thought that putting oil on my face sounded weird and would possibly cause a breakout. Being a huge fan of Korean skincare, I became curious about cleansing oils, so I started searching. I found a number of brands from Korea and even in the US. How had I never heard of these before? I made this discovery when my boyfriend was visiting his family in Korea, so I asked him to find some cleansing oil and bring it back for me. I was referring to the less expensive brands, but he likes to buy the best products, so he came back with the Sulwhasoo deep cleansing oil. This being the first cleansing oil I’ve tried, I was not sure what to expect. First of all, it smells very nice. The scent is delicate and not at all overwhelming. The oil is not like the consistency of a cooking oil, but rather something much more plant derived and light. It only requires half a pump, for me anyway, to cover my entire face. I just rub it gently in small circles and then rinse thoroughly with water. I usually wash very gently with a foaming cleanser after I use the cleansing oil. It does very well to remove nearly all of my makeup. Sometimes I will need to use eye makeup remover, but most of the time I do not. This cleansing oil is very high quality and leaves my skin feeling soft and supple and gives it a beautiful brightness.
