Wella Brilliance
I was thrilled to have the opportunity to try Wella. When I got it, the first thing I noticed was the packaging-- the color and shape were very pleasing, and reminded me of the "glamorous" brands of the late 80s. The scent is pretty generic-- not really floral or heavy, just pleasant, light and clean. The Wella Brilliance shampoo that I tried was formulated for thick, coarse and colored hair, wh...read moreich describes mine perfectly. It's extremely difficult for my hair to retain moisture, so I had high hopes for this shampoo. However, when I looked over the ingredients, I noticed that the formula contained several different sulfate types, which I know have a tendency to dry out hair. Still, I wanted to give it a a try. Since receiving it, I have washed my hair exclusively with Wella for about a week and a half. I cannot say that I am terribly pleased with it, despite my high hopes. While I know that this is considered a high-end brand, I did not think it performed any better than a drugstore product. The shampoo formula itself is pretty watery, and while it does lather well, the consistency of the lather was quite soapy. It rinsed cleanly enough, but my hair still felt sticky. I did not feel that it moisturized my hair very much at all-- if anything, my hair felt a bit stripped. After drying and flat ironing, my hair still had that sticky feeling, but I did notice that it had quite a bit more shine, and a good deal of bounce. SO while it does lives up to its brilliance claim, in that it gave me a good deal of lovely, lustrous shine, I did not find it moisturizing in the least. It behaved more like a clarifying shampoo than one for coarse hair. I will continue to use it whenever my hair needs a good cleaning from product buildup, but I do not think that this would meet my softness and moisturizing needs. This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 13 of 25 people said helpful

Can't believe it's professional
The best thing about this brilliance line is it's scent other than that it is no good for my hair, which is thick and coarse. It lathers up well but when rinsing it out I could feel the heaviness rather than a silky smooth feeling. It is loaded with sulfates and parabens which I don't recommend in any product. I didn't notice any significance with it affecting or enhancing my hair color. I would not spend the big $ on this line. This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 13 of 34 people said helpful

Read your ingredient labels
I got a very generous sample of the formula for fine color treated hair so I tried it with an open mind. It has a very strong floral fragrance. It seemed to completely clean my hair, make it shiny, and volumize it, but at the expense of drying it out and making my scalp really, really itchy. I tried it both with my normal conditioner and the Wella Brilliance Conditioner for fine hair (which I l...read moreiked). I proceeded to read the ingredients and was disappointed that it contains sodium lauryl sulfate as its second ingredient (after water) which is a very harsh, irritating, drying cleanser. Sodium LAURETH sulfate is a gentle and good cleanser. It also contains sodium chloride (salt). I spend a lot of money for my stylist to do her magic on my hair and would not continue to use this product on my colored hair. Salt is very drying, damaging, and can strip color. If you live in a cold snowy climate, you know what salt does to roads, walkways, and the paint on your car. If you live near the ocean..well enough said. I am also skeptical about the diamond dust. I am sure it adds shine, but diamond is the hardest material out there, I would be concerned that even though it is ground to a very fine powder, it might have the potential to be abrasive enough to damage my hair. I don't feel this shampoo is appropriate at all for color treated hair. My best beauty advice to anyone is to read the ingredient label on anything that goes in or on your body (or hair) before using it.This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 37 of 65 people said helpful
