Worth every penny

Let me just begin this review by saying this is the lipstick I wore for my wedding. That's how amazing it is. I had this on my Sephora wish list with no intention of ever actually buying it because it's so expensive, but my husband sneaked into my account and surprised me with it one day. I have the shade "004 Rouge Vermillon" which is bright and kind of a pink-ish red. It's hard to describe, but ...read moreI know I love it and though it's brigh it works well with my fair skin. (Sephora website doesn't seem to carry this shade anymore, but Nordstrom has it and the photo looks true to shade on my computer screen.) The lipstick is creamy and highly pigmented for a major color payoff, but it also works beautifully with a gloss or balm underneath when I want something a little less intense. I chose this lipstick for my wedding day because I love the bright, happy color, but also because this lipstick LASTS. It doesn't need primer or a top coat or anything like that--just straight out of the tube and you're good to go. I remember one of the first times I used it, we were out for brunch. There was almost no lipstick on the edge of my glass and while it looked like there was some wiped off on my napkin, when I went to the ladies room my lips still looked almost perfect, barely needed a touch up. I used it for the wedding with some clear liner, but I've also used it without and had no issues. Obviously when I use it with something underneath to tone down the brightness it requires more frequent application, but I can live with that. The tube can be a bit bulky to carry in a handbag because it's square and a little larger, I think, than a lot of other lipsticks. But the product inside is more than worth it. I definitely recommend this one!
