Did the formula change?
I don't know why one of the reviews said this liner was really dry. Maybe the formula changed over the years. I found this eyeliner to be really waxy. I would say this was made for the eyebrows instead. It was so waxy to the point of it tugging on my lids and didn't apply evenly. Don't bother trying to sharpen this to a sharp point because after I did, it broke off when I applied it to my lids. Th...read moree formula is too soft that it doesn't hold up and I can't create a sharp cat eye but it is soft enough to apply on the waterline. The funny thing about this liner is that it is waterproof but can fade throughout the day leaving patchy spots. It is pretty hard to remove since it smudges everywhere like peeling off stubborn sticker adhesive residue when water touches it. I've never had an eyeliner do this at all! Don't even bother!!
I got two of these in a set and since I was on auto-delivery, I have continued to receive two in a set every few months. The first one I tried was a gorgeous shade of midnight blue. However, the application was chalky, uneven, and the actual liner itself is just too dry to get a good line out of it, and sharpening it does not help in any way. A lot of the reviews for this liner aren't very positiv...read moree on other sites, and there's obviously a reason for that. Most of them are sayin the same things I'm saying, and they actually gave the liner more effort than I did. I don't know if the formula has gotten better in the year or so since it's been out, but I'm sticking with the Big & Bright liner for now which does exactly what I want it to.
