Pretty darn impressed

I received this as my birthday gift from Ulta and am pretty darn impressed with it. I have never used Calvin Klein makeup so I was a bit skeptical as I only wear Calvin Klein clothes and didn't think they would have equally awesome makeup. It's a hard tipped applicator with the hard bristles that pull each of my lashes apart and evenly apply mascara to each one. I would just say be careful when putting on mascara that has an applicator like that because I have poked myself a few times because it is rough and it does NOT feel good. I always take my time with these kinds of mascaras and make it a point to hit each of my lashes because the bristles pull each lash apart and coat each lash with super black mascara. After one coat on my top and bottom lashes I have volume, there is zero clumpiness, and they are super dark..Just the way I like them. I love the versatility of being able to turn the knob at the top to voluminous versus more defined for everyday; when I am going out at night or somewhere on the weekend I will do about 2-3 coats just to get that falsies look. This is a very wet mascara so I do not have to continuously dip my brush into the tube to get more product; once out of the tube does the job for both eyes. At $18 a tube, I'd say this is a pretty good price for mascara that gives me everything I want in a mascara, and I'm pleasantly surprised with my first impression of ck one makeup :) I can see myself purchasing this mascara as a less expensive high end mascara for date nights and weekends.

Received this as a bday gift from Ulta.....

If you have an Ulta nearby, do NOT purchase this since they give it to you on your birthday for free if you're a rewards member. The brush has a cool concept similar to Drew Barrymore's Flower Zoom-in Ultimate mascara I own. Even though the brush is unique where you can twist the cap and get the look you desire with the brush, I find that these brushes are quite spiky and even when I'm careful, it...read more will literally find its way to poking me in the eye. The formula on this is not too clumpy but lacks thickening agents. It has more of a watery base which isn't really good for my straight thin lashes. I find that it doesn't smudge and hold a curl well because the formula is not as thick as I would like it to be. This isn't a waterproof mascara but when wet doesn't run like other non-waterproof mascara I've tried. It actually flakes off when you remove it with water and your face wash. I like how it comes off quite easily without the staying power like some waterproof mascara. Always a plus for my sparse lashes that doesn't need any more thinning.

Has Potential

Since Ulta will be giving this as a birthday gift this year I decided to test drive it. I did the voluminous brush for one eye and the defining and lengthening for the other eye. On my straight Asian lashes I prefer the voluminous brush. Both brushes quickly gave my lashes an intense black with just a few strokes.
