I shaved two months worth of leghair off with this!

Seriously, I hate shaving my legs because I have sensitive skin and most razors end up hurting. With the Embrace, I had no razor burn, and I'm smoother than I ever have been using any other razor. I thought, two months of hair growth is going to KILL this razor! NOPE! It survived shaving both legs and looks like it might be able to tackle them again at the end of the week! It easily shaved over ...read moremy knees and around my ankles, never nicking my skin, always shaving it to silky smoothness. If I had the money to spend, I'd certainly get new heads for this. Sensitive skin, and quick regrowth of hair seems like so long ago with this shaver!

    Venus Embrace

This razor was great. It didn't knick me at all and it gave me a really close shave. I'm also prone to razor bumps, but this left me smooth. I've used it several times and it's still sharp and in great condition. I will definitely continue to use this razor!

    Love it!

Ok I always have to shave my legs other wise I feel dirty. Well with the shaver I do not have to shave them everyday like I always have this keeps the stuble away longer. Yes the refills are expensive, I would love to see coupons for the refills/but then again I don't have to shave as often.

Not that impressed with the Venus Razor...

First, the product comes with a handy little holder that is supposed to stick to the shower door. Humm, it wouldn't stick to mine. Second, it does have a large head- larger than most other razors and I was able to a close shave in the armpit area but was unable to do even feel the razor on my legs. The foamy portions around the blades became sticky and unusable within a week. I would give it thr...read moreee starts for manueverability but it's length of use is so short that I"m not sure it's worth the money.

A razor with a big head

I've been using the Schick Quattro for awhile now, so I was eager to switch things up and see if five heads are really better than one. They're not. THE CONS: * It's got a big head. I'm not implying this razor is full of itself, it just has a huge head. And this is really my biggest complaint with the Venus. Compared to my normal-sized Quattro head, this thing is a lawn-mowing monster, which mak...read morees it particularly tough when, well, trimming the lawn. It does NOT fit easily into the nooks and crannies necessary for a really good bikini shave. And to me, that's the ultimate test -- smooth as a baby's butt bikini, high scores in my book. But the Venus, unfortunately, didn't past that test. Other than this, though, the razor was pretty good. Although, I really don't see any difference between five blades and four. Same smoothness as my Quattro. Didn't see any noticeable change, but it does come with a nice little shower caddy thing that actually stays suctioned to the wall, as well as the following perks: THE PROS: * A lightweight. The razor is uber-light and easy to handle. Compared to my Quattro, this thing was like a feather. * Heading the right direction. The head has great range of motion and pivots REALLY well. * Strip down. I'm not a huge fan of the moisturizing strips they put on these days because I never realized any difference in what they do ... that, or I just always had them and never knew any different. This one was pretty nice, and I think I noticed an actual difference when shaving with soap and water (much smoother glide than other razors). * Cream rinse. This razor works FANTASTIC with shaving cream. I actually use a cream that's more the consistency of a thick lotion or hair conditioner, and the Venus glided great and provided a very close shave.

love this razor, but be careful...

My first impression of this razor was not very good -- when I reached into the package to take it out, I immediately got nicked on the thumb! That really sucked. However, its performance in the shower was great. The angled head moved with the contours of my body incredibly well. I was especially impressed with how well it reached into my underarm area without causing razor burn or irritation. Venus Embrace--a close shave, but not very durable

I've never been a girlie-razor girl. I don't need a pink razor, or one specially designed with Her in mind. It all seems like marketing hoo-hah. Although the Venus Embrace razor lives up to its claims--a close shave from the five compact blades, and some conditioning from the "ribbon of moisture" around the blade--the razor falls slightly short in heft and durability. I've used Mach 3 ra...read morezors for years, mostly because I like the weight of the heavy-duty handle. When I'm wielding a sharp instrument near my skin, I want it to feel like a real tool--not light and flimsy, like the Venus. I do like that the head of the razor pivots so freely. Coupled with the moisture strip surrounding the blade, this razor really glides over the curves and contours of your leg. But the "quickness" of this razor made me nervous. The "pod" that holds backup blades sticks has suction cups to stick in the shower, but it, too, has a flimsy feel. It's a good razor if you're looking for something lightweight and travel-friendly. But for everyday, at-home use, I prefer something more durable and less frilly.

    Incredible!

I tend to nick and cut, especially along the bony areas, so I was delighted with this razor - no injuries, no blood! I'm pleased with the closeness of the shave and the smoothness of the razor. I liked the holder that nicely attaches to the shower wall and the fact that it will hold the replacement blades. I will definitely continue to use the Gillette Venus Embrace and hope to find a sale or a coupon now and again.

    Wow!

I am in love with this razor. It's flexible and gives an extraordinarily close shave that lasts for days ... without the razor burn (which is often a problem for me). I haven't tried other Venus shavers, but this one has definitely converted me. I also like that it has a case to hold the extra blades that you can tack to your shower wall. It's not the most beautiful thing in the world, but it keeps you organized. Two thumbs up!

    Great Shave with the Embrace

Gillette's Venus Embrace is a dream, smoothing legs, getting every hair with the least amount of effort. However, please do not: trickle some water on it, to do a semi dry shave, after work, on the run, before your self tanning lotion application, before a happy hour meetup. Yeh. Ouch. Embarrassing. *Ladies with sensitive skin (especially under the arms) beware. Rubbing blades across the skin can be irritating. Five times the contact with blades on the skin with the Venus Embrace may make for a terrible reaction.
