Wow, it's a great razor!
The Venus Embrace razor is the smoothest, softest, closest shave I have ever had on my legs. I am really impressed with this product. With five (5) blades, it really glides on the skin and leaves skin very smooth! And, I love the soft handle, too. The latest razor from Gilette, Venus Embrace, has a cute purple and turquoise handle with five blades surrounded by a Protective Ribbon of Moisture to deliver a whole new shaving experience. Allows you to unleash your inner Speed Racer!
This particular razor has 5 blades instead of 3 which actually speeds up your shaving time and provides you with the close shave that some of us just couldn't get...at least I couldn't! It was sort of funny because I cautiously maneuvered the Venus Embrace across my limbs. After checking several times to see if a trail of blood magically appeared (as it always does!) and seeing smooth, brown skin...read more, I decided to pick up the pace. In my personal history of shaving, this is one of those rare moments when I remove just the hair and not hair and skin. There's hope for me yet! My only quip is the Showerpod, which is useless because it doesn't stick to the shower wall! I removed the shaving cartridges and made sure both suction cups were fully wet. Still, it was the same: one side would come undone and then the whole pod would crash to the floor of the shower. Transformed My Shaving Experience
I can't rave enough about this razor. I used to buy cheap razors and dutifully shave when I had to. I had no idea what a difference a more expensive razor could make! Silky, slimy, but overall smooth
My first thought when I saw this razor was that Spinal Tap "turn the volume up to 11" thinking had invaded the Gillette R&D lab. 5 blades? Really? Do we need that many blades all at once? But after using the Embrace, 5 blades really do seem to give a smoother shave with no cringing as I wait for that inevitable nick over my ankle bone. The handle is easy to grip, and the holder works well in the shower. five blades may not be worth it
I definitely appreciate the smooth shave the "ribbons of moisture" provide, but I really didn't notice any difference between the length of time between shaves with this razor and it's less expensive, fewer bladed counterparts. Gillette's Venus Embrace: Not the Best a Woman Can Get.
When the beauty gods delivered the Schick Quattro to my doorstep, I gladly surrendered my trusty Intuition razor in the name of beauty editing duty. Having been fondly surprised by the former arrival, I now alternate between the two, depending on if I need to lather some extra love on my lovely legs (Intuition) or if I'm going for pure and simple hotness (Quattro). The one entertaining factor is that the Embrace, which tries hard - with an unprecedented five blades - mimics the sound of the shower squeegees revered by compulsively clean bathroom dwellers nationwide.
