    Sampled, but led to purchase

First, I have fine textured, but rather voluminous, medium-long length, (mostly straight with a slight bit of wave) color treated hair. I received a single-use sample of the shampoo, conditioner, and mask to try: I decided to try the shampoo and conditioner during one "shampoo", and the mask after using a simple "clarifiy-ing" shampoo at another time, so that I could better evaluate the product...read mores. I figured I would most likely use the shampoo and conditioner at the same time and could better evaluate how they worked together, how any scent/fragrance worked together etc. So here's what happened. The first thing that hit me was the fragrance. I'm not used to much fragrance/scent in my shampoo or conditioner, so it at first seemed heavy to me, but I actually liked its musky, almost men’s fragranced tones. The shampoo and conditioner fragrance complimented each other. I applied the conditioner to the ends and then worked it up easily toward the roots. It rinsed cleanly. I felt it left my highly processed (high-lift, lightened blonde, regularly heat-styled- blow dry/curler/flatiron) hair super soft, smooth, and shiny, with plenty of volume and "bounce". I really was pleasantly surprised and loved the results, and I really loved the fragrance even though I usually prefer either soft, sweet fragrances. And actually I usually prefer my shampoo and conditioner are un-fragranced, so they don’t compete with my perfume/body fragrances. Funny story regarding the fragrance: A few hours later, my husband and I were at a drama rehearsal at church, and the blocking called for me to get close enough to another man to touch his forehead and ask, "Are you sick?" Instead of his line ("No, I'm fine."), he said, "Wow, you smell really good!" It was pretty funny, because my husband, who was playing the guys brother was sitting at the table right next him, protested loudly, "Dude! I'm RIGHT HERE!---Stop flirting with my wife!---I mean "Ida"! (my character's name)". We were all laughing. I wasn't wearing any perfume, so it had to be the shampoo/conditioner. If you don't like strong fragrance in your hair products, this might not be for you, and you might want to check the fragrance in the store before you purchase it, and I certainly don't plan to layer on my perfume or fragranced lotions when I use it. It's kind of a "body fragrance" in itself. Big problem (for me anyway): The price. Wow, $30 for six and a half ounces! That's the only reason I knocked off a star, but I have to say, it performed really well, and in the end, I made the full-size purchase. I guess that's what a little un-solicited flirting from another man, in the presence of your husband, will do ;) I'm looking at the purchase as a high-end conditioner AND a fragrance-in-one,---to help me feel better about the price-tag. If after using a full-size bottle, I change my mind, or even decide to repeat the purchase, I will update my review! :)
