Makes Shaving Easier, More Pleasant, and Fun!
Gillette's "Venus and Olay" razor in "Sugarberry" scent was an unexpected pleasure. I have used razors with moisturizing bars, but a scent? I like the shower hook for easy storage. All in all, this was one of the best shaving experiences I've had in a long time. THE WORST RAZOR!
I thought the concept of combining Olay moisturizer with a razor was a good one; however it failed miserably. There are 2 trays of Olay product on each end of the razor head. I felt no moisture when or after using the razor. Further, the razor head bends way too much. I suppose it was designed to follow the contour of one's legs. but, no one's legs have that much contour. I found it very dif...read moreficult to manipulate because of that bad feature. And, finally, it does not give a close shave. I was left with stubble with a brand new razor! After 3 passes, the stubble remained. This is a product with good intentions, but is worse than the disposable razors that at least give a clean shave. I was very excited to have the opportunity to review this razor for TotalBeauty. When I received it I noticed how pretty a color the razor was, and thought that Sugarberry sounded like a fun scent. I was intrigued that Olay was going to be combined with a razor. The first thing I noticed about this razor was that the packaging was crazy hard to get into. I appreciate security and cleanliness, but...read more it was ridiculous. I had to cut and peel the plastic apart. When I finally got into it, I found that the sugarberry scent was very faint, and that the razor looked really high tech. In the shower: The head of the razor bends too much! I know that it is supposed to conform to the curves of your leg, but I was scared I was going to cut myself, what with the way it was waving around. I also did not think that the Olay bars did much to moisturize...if anything, it just made the shave slimy, and the blades skipped over my skin. Lastly, price. I do not typically use Venus razors, but I know they are expensive. I could never justify the price tag of this product. I don't think it gave a superior shave; if anything, it was worse than a normal razor.
