Horrible
About 4 months ago I used Garnier Nutrisse (which I have always liked) to dye my hair from light brown to black. It looked and felt great, I loved it. It faded after about 2 months so I was cheap and bought Revlon Colorsilk for a touch up. Worst hair dye I have ever used. I have always had very fine, long hair, but a lot of it. The color bled out of my hair really bad for about a week and a half and left it dull and unevenly colored. Most expensive isn't ALWAYS BETTER

Professional Hairstylist Weighs In
I cannot attest to the lighter colors in this collection, I am simply speaking for the black and dark brown shades. Almost every stylist will tell you to run away from this product simply because it's cheap. I will also tell you to run away, but not because of the price. While the product did leave your hair a bit softer and shiner than before you color it offers horrible results. It covers any na...read moretural highlight you may have going and gives a very one dimensional hue. The color rinsed out for a solid week after I had applied, I've never had a product do this before. Color was very harsh in natural and fluorescent lighting. The smell is horrible, it made my eyes water. Color dripped and is VERY messy. It stains anything it touches almost immediately . The old homage 'you get what you pay for" was very true in this case. Amazing!
I have been using Colorsilk in various shades for over a year and a half now. Some shades I've had some luck with,others just didn't turn out light enough (I tried Golden Blonde) some had a weird color in the light (Light ASh brown had a green tint) and some washed out (Medium Brown, this one,) and others didn't show at all or came out the a totally different color (Light Reddish Brown-when i use...read mored it the first time. Second time it was alright. but it was a dark brown instead) Shades I've had luck with are Auburn Brown (amazing color) and Medium Aburn. Just yesterday I dyed ny hair with shade 51, Light Brown. Before I did my hair was blonde. I had highlights put in, and the sun had naturally made then blend together with my hair. So i was pretty much a bleach blonde. The color was amazing, it totally worked through the bleach in the highlights and got it all. MY hair always feels soft after i use this stuff. The price is amazing. I will always come to this (as long as my hair doesnt fall out from over dying) I just love experimenting with this. To color or not to color?
I have had many encounters with using Revlon colorsilk. This is a product that is continuing to disappoint me. I follow all instructions, but the color seems to fade almost immediately. I use this to color my already dark brown hair black quite often, and it almost immediately adjusts back to brown. Great price GREAT results!
I was a little scared to buy a cheaper priced hair color but in today's economy you have to find bargains. I was so impressed that I didn't run my husband and children out of the house with horrible fumes. There was barely a smell and it was not offensive. The color was what I wanted and more. Good stuff!
This product works great, doesn't burn or stain my skin and I love the Bright Auburn shade they provide, it's much more like real redheads color when it's not as auburn, but actually medium red like I want without looking fake.
