I'm truly impressed with Revlon ColorSilk. I've been highlighting my hair for a few years and I finally got tired of spending so much money and not being happy with the results. I decided to let my hair grow out it's natural color (ashy blonde) which completely washed my complexion out. No ashy tones which is great and at $3.00 a box, you can't loose! Funny thing is when I was going to the salon, paying $250.00 for highlights and haircut, I was never "really" happy with the results, paying $3.00 for a box of hair color, I'm really happy with the results! My hair feels silky, strong and wonderful, no nasty smell to it either! Revlon Knows Beauty On a Budget
This has a price you can't refuse so why not try it? I'm glad I did. For about three to five dollars, this box delivered the same quality hair dye that even the expensive ones deliver but the catch? It drips. You'd have to surround floors and surfaces with protective barriers like newspapers or plastic, anything that will keep things from staining because this one is so much more fluid than crea...read morem that it will splat anywhere and everywhere and drip from your locks. The conditioner is in a baggie instead of a tube which I wish was contained in a tube because that would mean more uses out of it and no leakage but regardless, the conditioner only provided me one use for my long hair anyway. I found that if this gets on skin that it will stain more than any other hair dye I've gotten on me and far more difficult to remove so be very careful! It didn't leave my hair feeling damaged like other certain hair dyes have in the past but that doesn't mean this doesn't do any damage at all because all dyes and any chemical treatment will do so to hair no matter what. But after washing off the dye and conditioning, I like that my hair felt soft and could be easily styled because it wasn't so dried out that it would frizz up and basically be hard to manage. Good For Touch-Ups....That's About It
I've used four boxes of this product because it's CHEAP. So it's a perfect solution for fighting off my fast-growing gray roots on my black hair. Unfortunately, it just doesn't last. I get about a week of color from this and then it just starts washing down the drain more and more with every subsequent shampoo. In the beginning, I used it all over but have since decided to just use it on my root...read mores. It leaves my hair looking dull and dry and "chalky", so I stick to putting it on my roots only. No shine, no softness, nothing really redeeming about this except the price and the fact that it hides my gray hair. I use half of the bottles each time I do a touch-up, making this the all-time cheapest hair color I've ever used ~ averaging around $2 per use. Covers gray with good color
I can't complain about the color at all. I'm 28 and I'm 50% gray on top already thanks to the genes on both sides of my family. This dye is my go to since I have to dye so often and I'm on a beauty budget. I dye about every 3 weeks and I have to say that this product is absolutely dependable. I would give it a 10 if it came with a better and bigger conditioner. Might be the most cost effective product out there
Seriously where I shop (Target) Its less than 4 dollars and some sales occur when they are around 2-3 bucks. Its just as good as any other box dye I have used. I also prefer liquid over mousse any day. So hard to rub around with thick hair. Over all Super great for the money. I dye my hair brown and I heard dying darker is way easier with a at home kit. Harder to mess up than going lighter. Doesn'...read moret have those crazy dye fumes you can get from some box dyes. I just purchased their new Color Silk Luminista... Best. Value. Ever.
I like to keep my highlighted thorughout the year, and Revlon does the job at $3 a month. I buy a shade lighter than what I want, and boom: perfectly covered, shiny, dimensional hair.
