I love the red shades!
I was told by many hairdressers not to ever use 'boxed color'...But when I shop Sally's beauty supply , they don't have a good selection of coppery reds or natural true reds. Revlon colorsilk has 'bright auburn' and 'medium auburn'....I mix the two colors and I love the results. I am naturally a lt/med. brown....I pre-lighten and then deposit only (10 vol developer) the color. LOVE the conditioner...read more, TOO! I wish they sold it separately. These red tones last alot longer than the beauty supply colors....and it's way cheaper......also, I don't have to go through the roots being really bright right after the root touch -up! Great Product and Cruelty Free!!
After finding out that my current brand of Hair Color was manufactured by a company that still uses animal testing (c'mon, we send people to outerspace but have to squirt things in the eyes of dogs, cats, and bunnies????!!!!) I did some research to find a cruelty free hair color. According to my sources, Revlon doesn't test on animals, so I looked for them in the haicolor aisle. I picked up the box and bought it anyway....I am so glad I did!!! colour silk dissapointment
I bought this product because it had no ammonia.. Great The colour result was anything but, my natural colour is light brown, i used Colorsilk 54 light golden brown the result was very dark brown. bad conditioner

Utterly foolproof
Wow. That was my first impression. I am a home hair color veteran, so I have done it all and used it all, and am rarely impressed enough with a hair color product to write a review of it. Even disregarding the price of this amazing stuff, the performance is pretty unmatched. It's foolproof.. and it really delivers shiny, even color. I have been a brunette, blond and redhead all in the last six mon...read moreths... and I decided it was time to keep it simple and go back to black. So I picked up two boxes [I have lots of hair] of the no frills Black 10, and I am really pleased! I just wanted a simple, plain black... not blue black, not red black, not dark brown pseudo-black.. just black. And that is what I got. For $4 a box. A month later of washing every day and my hair is... still a gorgeous glossy black! It really doesn't get any better than that. Love All Colors

#51 Light Brown, I HATE the color...
...but the product itself was great. Good price. Didn't smell and burn my nose. Didn't drip. Great coverage for my grays. My hair feels soft. But going from a medium blonde and thinking I'm only going up a shade or two using "light" brown, it is a horrible, horrible mistake! Too me, it looks almost like a sable brown, no hightlights, just a flat dark brown. Ugh!! I can't wait to red...read moreye it or just have it wash out as soon as possible. first time user
I was excited about trying colorsilk hair color for the first time, unfortuniatly it was short lived . I did as the package directions stated and was not happy when I rinsed off the product ugh! 100 % coverage to the gray, I don't think so. It did not cover the gray very well. The directions stated to leave on for 30 minutes. I did just that & boy I sure am disappointed. Way to go Revlon!
I haven't tried this yet but I will be soon. I fell in love with Clairol Natural Instincts but I am going to switch. Not because Colorsilk is cheaper but because Revlon is the only drugstore brand that doesn't test on animals which is very important to me. This is the best so far, tried a lot of hair color product and only paid $2.50 at cvs. Great for covering grays, my hair is silkier, shinier and soft.
