Pixi's Palette Perfection
Ah, where to begin with this wonderful product? The texture lid of the case makes each of the sixteen eye shadows look as if they are enclosed separately, sort of like a small box of chocolates. These are day-time inspired hues, and they can certainly be used for day or create a perfect, dramatic smoky eye for night. The shades all have gentle, wearable shimmer, are soft to the touch (and brush...read more), apply and blend quite easily, and are saturated with Pixi's unique pigments. The colors include a 1) A bright lemon yellow, highly useful to as a spot of pure, surprising gold over your pupil or on your brow bone; 2) Pale mauve/pink, a nice base; 3) A light gold/pink mix; 4) Decadently deep chocolate; 5) Ecru with a holographic gold look, perfect for highlighting brow bones; 6) Warm pink/gold, bordering on light copper; 7) Pure peach; 8) Rich taupe; 9) Warm copper; 10) Taupe/brown mix; 11) An Interesting mix of taupe, pink, and gold; 12) Pure vivid purple; 13) Lush brown with purple undertones; 14) A warm bronze brown; 15) A warm chocolate brown; and 16) A mysterious and flattering blend of dark red and amethyst. My only problem with the case is that the applicators tend to fall out when you pull out the bottom shelf, which holds two base powders for shadows. The first is a matte peach square, with quite a lot of product; it is accompanied by a gleaming champagne. I have worn the powders under the shadows, and only the champagne slightly increases the intensity of the color. I haven't worn them for at least twelve to sixteen hours, which is my own "test" time as a primer. I keep the applicators for touch-ups, but these are especially nice foam ones, with larger sides for shadow and more narrow sides for lining. There is no limit to the looks you can create with this palette. I've tried several different combinations so far, and I keep coming back with the adjective, "Wow!" Pixi has a hit with this kit. They tend to carry some palettes for limited times, so I highly suggest that you get yours now. For about $20.00 (I bought mine on Amazon as opposed to $28.00 at Target or Pixi's site), I couldn't be happier.
