I have type 3B curls that are high porosity, so I prioritize using sulfate/silicone-free shampoos and conditioners. Having curly hair puts my hair at higher risk of brittleness, plus I occasionally style with heat, but I did not have to use as many leave in conditioning products to achieve a soft-feeling mane while using this shampoo. A word of warning, however: if your scalp tends toward the oilier side, this shampoo probably is not for you.
