This had a shea butter/ cocoa butter smell and a thick but also a little slimy feel. This is perfect for when you have a lot of product on your hair like mousse and hairspray or gel and hairspray depending on how you are styling it. You put this on prior to washing with Shampoo and then, of course, follow up with Conditioner.
