I used Nioxin Shampoo/Cond. for almost 2 years. My hair continued to break, there were handfuls in the tub after every wash, as well as dozens of strands in my brush. I had a couple of strokes in '98, but they effected only the pain center of my brain. My doctor claims my meds, of which there are many, are not the cause of my brittle, thinning hair. He also didn't believe the cause was hormonal, even though I had a total hysterectomy 13 yrs ago, and am no longer on HRT. IF he is right, I am at a loss for why this is occuring. I don't overstyle, usually wash my hair every 2-3 days due to my diisability, and let it air dry unless I am going out, which is rare. Because I let it air dry, it is super-frizzy, so I may use my Maxi Glide hot iron w/steam to make it look less frightening, but always set it on low heat. I wish someone had some tips/ideas for me, for I do not want to lose my hair. Anyone?

My hair has thinned from STRESS!!! My dermatologist is taking care of it and it's getting better slowly-But I wanted to say that for the ladies that might see some sparse spots a quick fix is available from Bumble&Bumble-it's a hair spray with color-comes in white, brown and maybe other colors. It works great and no one will be the wiser-washed out easily.
