The Nautical Makeup Trend Makes a Splash on Broadway

Looking for Memorial Day weekend makeup inspiration? We suggest nautical -- and MAC has you covered. They just launched a new collection called Hey, Sailor!, which will be available for a very limited time -- just until July 5. We can't get enough of the retro look -- think elongated black eyeliner, a red lip and a matching red mani.

MAC also happens to be the makeup sponsor for the Broadway musical "Anything Goes", which is the epitome of nautical style -- set on a cruise ship during the 1930's. "You can use a lot of these products to recreate the looks in the show," says Angelina Avallone, lead makeup artist on the production, about the Hey, Sailor! collection. She suggests piling on the bronzer for a tawny seafarer effect, and pairing it with the classic red lipstick from the collection. "It's fun and glamorous," she says. We can't think of a better look for ringing in the summer.
