Weekend Recap: Aveda's Earth Day Cut-A-Thon, Jennifer Lawrence's New Lob and More

Happy Earth Day! In celebration of the international holiday, The Aveda Institute is participating in a global 24-hour cut-a-thon. Stylists in cities all over the world, including Tokyo, Sydney, Moscow, London, New York and Los Angeles are volunteering their time to give haircuts in return for a donation to the annual Aveda Earth Month campaign. The coolest part: They're attempting to set the Guinness World Record for "most money raised for a charity by haircuts in a 24-hour period." Source: Real Beauty

Now, Hollywood's leading lady Jennifer Lawrence can be added to the list, making the look even more trend-worthy with bangs and face-framing layers. Good news for beauty shoppers who love a bargain: Walmart's beauty department is getting a makeover. In an effort to elevate the style and design of the store layout, the retailer's head of beauty, Jody Pinson, will revamp the beauty department. The two most notable changes are the inclusion of Drew Barrymore's cosmetics brand, Flower, and a bright nail department. The overall design features faux wood floors and angled gondolas to give the appearance of a boutique within the store. Source: WWD
