8 Daring Color Trends Everyone Can Pull OffIs your makeup bag filled with brown eyeshadows and clear lip glosses? If so, it may be time to break out of your beige-colored comfort zone and try one of these hot new color trends. We'll show you how |
Green eyeshadow Green eyeshadow is a gorgeous color that looks great on any skin tone, says Maderich. And, if worn correctly, it will help your eye color pop. "A bright shade of green can look cartoonish on a lot of women," he says. The key to make the hue wearable is to mix the green with some gold eyeshadow. Check out his tips on how to wear the color:
For fair skin tones: Do a true bright shade of green (like Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow in Apple Green, $19), which will look great against pale skin and blonde hair. The key is to wear a lot of black mascara, and to keep the rest of the face bare.
For medium skin tones: Use a muted shade of green with gold flecks in it, like Napoleon Perdis Ultra Pearl Eye Shadow in Golden Khaki, $18. This will be more flattering for warm undertones.
For darker skin tones: Use an olive green color, which Maderich says will "look gorgeous against your skin." Try Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow in Olive Green, $19. Apply a heavy black liner to help define your eyes. "When you put bright color on darker skin, you tend to lose the shape of the eye, so it's nice to provide extra definition with the liner."
Bonus: "Green is such an overpowering color, so it's best to keep the rest of your face nude. You could do a sheer gold lip gloss, which would be nice and kind of punchy," says Maderich.

I am trying to keep an open mind, but I don't think orange eye shadow flatters anyone; nor do lavender lips.

I find it pretty hard to believe that most of these colors would ever look good on me.

The tangerine had its time over the summer, but should be retired. I saw many women trying to pull it off. The key word is "trying". Orange??? No way!

I can see almost all of these working except the orange eyeshadow, not sure about that one.

I wish they showed these looks on actual models so we could get an idea of how the looks could be pulled off. Or even two looks like a high fashion one and an every day look one so its not too intimidating to try.
