8 Daring Color Trends Everyone Can Pull OffIs your makeup bag filled with brown eyeshadows and clear lip glosses? If so, it may be time to break out of your beige-colored comfort zone and try one of these hot new color trends. We'll show you how |
Hot fuchsia cheeks "A pop of fuchsia is perfect for everyone," says Daoud. But you also don't want to look like you're going to Studio 54 at noon, so "make sure to use just a touch of the color on the apples of your cheeks," says Maderich. We recommend Make Up For Ever Powder Blush in Neon Pink, $19. Want to know the best way to wear this color based on your skin tone?
For fair to medium skin tones: Apply a light application of the color on the apples of your cheeks for a slight flush, says Maderich. If the fuchsia is still too bright for your taste, apply a translucent powder on top to soften the edges of the color.
For darker skin tones: Opt for a darker fuchsia and do a heavy application of the color. Try MAC Powder Blush in Frankly Scarlet, $20. "I love this color -- it's kind of a disco look," Maderich says.
Bonus: For light to medium skin tones, apply a paler shade of fuchsia on the lips, says Maderich. And for darker skin tones, do a matching fuchsia hue on the lips. Pair it with a neutral, taupey eye. "For a night look, do a slight cat-eye to punch it up," he says.

I am trying to keep an open mind, but I don't think orange eye shadow flatters anyone; nor do lavender lips.

I find it pretty hard to believe that most of these colors would ever look good on me.

The tangerine had its time over the summer, but should be retired. I saw many women trying to pull it off. The key word is "trying". Orange??? No way!

I can see almost all of these working except the orange eyeshadow, not sure about that one.

I wish they showed these looks on actual models so we could get an idea of how the looks could be pulled off. Or even two looks like a high fashion one and an every day look one so its not too intimidating to try.
