Hair Do: Warm Tones "Warm tones tend to be the best for women 40+ because they make the complexion look alive and youthful," says Kastin. Who doesn't like the sound of that?
It's easy to make the switch. Just go for a blonde shade with warm, golden undertones like Naomi Watts', or you can go for a warm red or brunette shade. Just tell your stylist you want a "warm" shade, or if you're coloring your hair at home, avoid any box color labeled "ash."
I look in the mirror and who the hello is that person looking back? Not me, for sure ... I get the wrong color, the wrong style ... this article points out soooooo much. Thanks, I think
When I was a little girl I wore my hair in a pony tail every single day - it was so long it would give me headaches. When I'd finally had enough of those (and some were just awful!) I decided to get it cut to something that was more fashionable AND shorter, LOTS shorter. Even though it ended up being shoulder lenght I just loved it. But my hair was also very very thick! Mom finally took me to her hairstylist who layered my hair and I just loved it! Yes, it was a bit unnerving taking that LARGE jump, but once I did I said the same thing that another girl wrote, "I'll NEVER let my hair grow long again!!" although I did later down the road. It took some getting used to, but using about 1/2 the product/s from before it was cut, and cutting the drying time from about 45 mins. down to just 15 mins. or so - I LOVED IT!! It was quite a decision for a 4th grader LOL The tips in this article were great! Thanks for sharing them ;)

Really great tips! I never felt an ash color was attractive at any age but as a whole these are really good guidelines for us 40+ women!
