Best: IMAN Cosmetics IMAN Cosmetics was created by supermodel Iman almost 20 years go, and it was the first makeup and skin care line specifically made for women of color. "It was more than foundations and powders; it was appealing to a deep psychological need that I think all black women needed at that time: To be told that they were beautiful, invited to sit at the cool table and courted in high style," Iman said in an interview with WWD about her line.
When the BB cream craze hit a few years ago, many brands launched with only one or two shades, which rarely worked for women with darker skin tones. Iman stepped in and brought six shades to the market, satisfying a serious demand yet again.
