As someone who was regularly berated by her orthodontist for not using lip balm (I'll spare you the gory details of my headgear routine), I've grown to be pretty finicky when it comes to my lip regimen.
Now, I always have Chapstick in my purse, and while it's great for hydration, it fails to deliver on the pigment front. Lip gloss always seems like a good idea ... until strands of my hair get trapped in the stickiness. Lipstick makes me feel like a real-life grown up -- but then I need to carry around a sizeable mirror and tissues so I can retouch every 10 minutes, and that's not happening.
All of this boils down to one thing: I'm ecstatic about lip crayons.
Lip crayons bundle up all the positive qualities of the aforementioned lip products into one, convenient stick. Beside the fact that they're light, moisturizing, pigmented, and super easy to apply, lip crayons are just plain fun. I don't know about you, but there was nothing like opening a fresh new box of 48 Crayola crayons on the first day of school. Lip crayons give me that same happy feeling.
So, instead of having to choose between a heavy lipstick, a shiny gloss, or a moisturizing balm, just jump on the lip crayon bandwagon to get the best of the lip world in one. Here are my favorite lip crayons that all have something special -- whether it's a certain shine, scent, or sheen.
Consider your purse your art box and put these seven lip crayons in heavy rotation. Your inner 8-year old will love you for it.
