8 Makeup Artist Secrets for Fuller-Looking Lips

Celeb makeup artists share their secrets for scoring bigger lips without the help of a needle.

Slightly overline your lips This might be one of the oldest tricks in the book but it's one to keep on file, says Ariana Grande's makeup artist, Daniel Chinchilla. It's not as simple as it sounds to pull off, so it's best to start slow. He suggests selecting a lip liner that's slightly darker than your natural lip line. "MAC Lip Pencil in Stripdown, $17.50, is a good color on most lighter complexions," he says. "If you have a deeper complexion, try the color Cork."

Next, line the outside of your lip and fill in the rest of your lip with the pencil. Take a lighter lipstick (his go-to is Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color in Bare It All, $2.67, and try your hardest to stay in the center of the lips so that the outer part is slightly darker. "You want a slight contrast to give the illusion of fuller lips," he says.
