To make this look your own, LaMarsh suggests starting with the darker lipstick from the inside corners of the mouth to the center of the lips. Next, apply the lighter of the two lipsticks to the center of your lips. "Darker colors appear farther away and lighter colors appear closer, so this optical illusion makes your lips appear larger and poutier," she says. Make sure the lipsticks complement each other and are close in shade. She loves using Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick in Honey, $18, for the center and Staunch for the outside corners.
