Finish with a clear gloss As a final touch to really amp the effects of that 3D appeal, apply a gloss over the top of your lips, whether or not you're using any other product. Celeb makeup artists say any gloss will do — even drugstore lip glosses — and to focus on applying to the center of the bottom lip. Hilary Kline, a Minneapolis-based makeup artist, loves NYX Pump It Up Lip Plumper, $5.49. "This product has a special peptide in it that helps improve collagen synthesis, which can lead to firmer, fuller and smoother-looking lips," she says. For even more volume, you can also add a touch of highlighter, like Glossier's Haloscope, $22, to your cupid's bow (the indent just above your upper lip and below your nose).
