This Is the Manicure You Should Get, Based on Your Astrological Sign
Why Massages Are More Than a "Treat Yourself" SplurgeThis is your cue to pencil one in for this week |
"I can't believe I waited this long to finally get a massage," I thought to myself while melting into a deep tissue treatment at the Feel Harmony Spa nestled within Cancún's Live Aqua resort (ya'll, it was so good that I actually fell asleep for a second and woke myself up with a tiny snore, #noshame). Seeing as how I tend to go months between massages — full-well knowing that I feel rejuvenated and healthier every time I actually do go — it's a phrase I tend to repeat to myself a lot.
I don't know about you, but it's sometimes difficult for me to categorize massages into the "health necessity" bracket. But, similar to getting my teeth cleaned or going to the gym, I have to remind myself that massages aren't just self-indulgent splurges. They're actually an important part of any wellness regimen, and our bodies are much better off when we invest our time (and yeah, money) into routine rub downs.
In the name of better health, I set out to talk to a few experts about the mental and physical benefits of booking more frequent massages.
