M.A.C. TenderTalk Lip Balm, $20 This tinted lip balm packs the pigment punch of a lipstick -- whether you opt for Play With Me (a sheer red, pictured here), Teddy Pink (bright pink) or Side Dish (sheer plum) -- but the moisturizing feeling of a balm.

The results: The major color payoff made it a little tricky to discern a difference between our two wearers, but it did appear darker and cooler-toned on one tester (top) and lighter and more-orangey on the other (bottom).

Level of magic: 5 out of 10 cloaks of invisibility
