11 Beauty Tips and Tricks from Super-Busy (and High-Profile) Women
- Posted by Kristen on February 10, 2010 at 11:36AM
Ever skipped a day of showering? Oh, c'mon you can tell me, it's not like I'm in any position to judge.
Sometimes there's just so much going on in the morning that before I realize it, it's time for work and I'm lucky if I can find my other shoe much less hop in the shower and, perish the thought, shampoo my hair (with my fave product that made this "best of" list) and have to deal with styling it on top of everything else.
So, on those days I just skip it. (It's not that gross, it's not like I've had time to go to the gym or anything.)
Yes, duh, we lead busy lives. Juggling career, men, family and friends isn't easy, but we persevere, trying valiantly not to drop any of the balls. (Especially the newborn ones, they're not too resilient.)
How then, do women do it all and manage to look so dang good? To find out, we talked to eleven high falutin' movers and shakers to see what tricks they have to get (and stay) beautiful in this fast moving blur that is our lives. Here's what they had to say.
1. Tracey Cunningham, Redken Creative Consultant for Color
"I squeeze in 30 minutes every few weeks to get my eyebrows done," says Cunningham who knows it's important because "The clean line instantly brightens my look." In between appointments, Cunningham, who's one of the most highly sought after colorists in the biz, relies on a product to tint and tame her brows. See which one she swears by.
2. Dr. Jessica Wu, dermatologist
Dr. Wu saves a lot of time by not having to go to the dermatologist or agonize over which products to use on her face. To keep the 1-2 punch of wrinkles and breakouts at bay, the high profile doctor has a "regimen [that] consists of prescription-strength Renova two to three times a week and an over-the-counter retinol the other nights." Find out which over-the-counter retinol product our readers love.
3. Carol Brodie, curator of Rarities Fine Jewelry on HSN
"Great glossy lips are like a perfect pair of diamond stud earrings," says Brodie. Her favorite? "The pinky gold shade from Purple Lab. It adds a shine and sparkle that lights up my face! See whether TotalBeauty.com readers agree with her review.
4. Joanna Schlip, celebrity makeup artist
"My absolute must-haves are bronzer, blush and sunglasses," says Schlip who
likes the convenience of a bronzer/brush duo like this one and who's quick to whip the shades into place for a quick fix. "When I'm in a rush, I pull out the sunglasses. A bold black pair is the ultimate accessory to chic-a-fy any look."
Seven more tips to go. See them here.
