Jacky O'Shaughnessy has been modeling for Los Angeles based clothing company American Apparel since 2012 shortly after she, at 60, was discovered while eating at a New York City restaurant.
Fast forward a couple of years and Jacky O. is now the official face -- and body -- of the company's new lingerie campaign.

Accompanied by the tag line "Sexy Has No Expiration Date," American Apparel, Friday, posted a photo of a O'Shaughnessy clad in lacy lingerie on its Facebook and Instagram pages. And, the viewing public went wild.
"Hope I age just as beautifully," "This deserves a standing ovation -- seriously, " "Stunning. Oh my goodness, she is lovely," read comments on Facebook.
And, while some folks were less laudatory, and even veered into unkind territory, they were quickly lambasted by fans of Jacky who're all for older women being hired to represent a provocative clothing line.
The brouhaha isn't lost on O'Shaughnessy, a lifelong actress, who is still adjusting to the life of a model. "I've read so many times that modeling is vapid at best," she said in an interview. "I found it to be engaging and creative. It requires energy and an ability to communicate without words."
If this first photo from the campaign is any indication, Ms. O'Shaughnessy has the whole "communicating without words" thing down pat.
