A group of researchers in Europe say they've made a breakthrough that may end up producing a topical remedy to reverse gray hair, according to CosmeticsDesign.com. The potential cure focuses on the causes of gray hair, which has to do with "oxidative stress from an accumulation of hydrogen peroxide in hair follicles," according to the research.

Translation: As you age, your hair essentially bleaches itself, causing a head of gray or white. This new cure could reverse that process, meaning you might never have to buy another box of Nice 'N Easy again.

But before you get too excited, we're probably still years away from anything hitting the market. And when it does, it will likely be treated as a pharmaceutical instead of a hair care product, so you may need a prescription. Even still, this is huge news for all of us who dread those silver strands that seem to multiply every time we glance in a mirror.
