Brittany Snow Reveals Her Best -- and Worst -- Red Carpet Moment

The movie star dishes about makeup must-haves, her mom's best beauty advice and that one time she wore leopard-print cowboy boots in public

You recognize actress Brittany Snow for playing the rambunctious, unfairly pretty one in movies like "Pitch Perfect, " "Hairspray" and "John Tucker Must Die." It's no wonder she's been Hollywood's go-to romantic comedy darling since the mid-2000s. Perpetually doe-eyed and fresh-faced, there's just something irresistibly watchable about Snow, which is likely why beauty brand Biore snagged her for their latest campaign -- #stripwithBiore

IRL, Snow is no less charming. Sporting a rose gold hair color and mascara for days (We'd kill for those lashes!), the actress was delightfully personable as she gushed about her beauty secrets, celebrity style icons and her worst-ever fashion blunder.

1) TB: What are your five can't-live-without beauty products?

BS: There's this cream I use called Dermal-K, which is an organic product full of vitamins that makes your skin less red, and my skin is really red. Then there are Biore's pore strips, the charcoal kind -- those are what really work to make my skin less shiny. Plus, you actually get to see the results right away, and there's something satisfying in that. I love La Mer moisturizer, because it's really dense and hydrating. And I can't live without my Laura Mercier concealer -- it's the only thing that I use. Sometimes that's all I have -- just those products and some Maybelline Great Lash, and I call it a day.

2) TB: Who are your personal beauty icons?

BS: My mom is a big person that I look to for beauty advice. When I was a kid, she was very into skin care. She was putting suntan lotion and moisturizer on me before I could even think about it. She would tell me that I couldn't wear mascara, because my eyelashes were going to fall off. She was joking, but she was really just protecting me. She didn't want me wearing too much makeup. Although I do love mascara, even to this day. Maybe it's because I didn't get enough of it as a kid.

3) TB: What about fashion influences?

BS: Diane Kruger -- I love her so much when it comes to fashion. I love how playful and whimsical she is, and how she's such a risk-taker, but it's all done with class. I also love red-carpet looks by Amy Adams -- I think she's so elegant, and she does have a lot of fun with fashion, but it's all in that old, timeless Hollywood style.

4) TB: Do you have a favorite recent red-carpet look of yours?

BS: It'd probably be what I wore to the Golden Globes party. I wore a Valentino dress, and you can't really go wrong with Valentino. My hair was done in a certain way, but it was raining outside, so then it curled up, which was actually not our intention, but it worked out really nicely. I like when something like that happens. And I did my own makeup -- I just kept it really normal and light, and sometimes I think that's what turns out the best.

5) TB: Do you do your own makeup a lot?

BS: I do it about 90 percent of the time. I think if I weren't an actress, I could do that. I love colors, I love products. I love opening up the packaging -- that's my favorite thing to do. I'll go to Sephora and then come home so excited just to open it all up. Benefit has great packaging. I just love the aesthetic of it all.

6) TB: Can you describe your personal style in 10 words or less?

BS: I'd say ... classic, effortless, fun, cute, and tomboyish.

I'll wear my Converse and my striped shirt to set, but I love dresses, too. It's all under the same template of being very simple.

7) TB: How do you think your look has evolved over the years?

BS: Anyone can see that I had no freakin' idea what I was doing when I was a teenager. If anyone ever wants to have a good laugh, just look up Brittany Snow from 2002. There was this one premiere I went to where I was wearing a pink shirt with a black skort, and then pink, blue and purple leopard print cowboy boots. I am not joking. And by the way, in all the pictures of me on the red carpet I'm pointing at my boots, like "look how cool my shoes are!" I guess I went for it. But I also wore a tutu at one point. I mean, it was just all bad. So I think the evolution of my style has only gone up. Also, I used to want to look at other people for inspiration, but I feel like style is really more about finding your own personality, and that comes as you get older. Now when I see something, I know what I like, and I know how to make it my own. That just comes with growing up.
