We love seeing how beauty brands are contributing to the fight against COVID-19. Heck, Kylie Jenner of Kylie Cosmetics even
donated $1 million to Los Angeles health care workers.
And now Sir James Dyson — aka the inventor of your favorite hairdryer (and probably your favorite vacuum, too) — has just contributed to the effort in a major,
major way.
In a company-wide letter
published by FastCompany, Dyson spoke of the worldwide ventilator shortage and revealed his latest innovation, dubbed the CoVent. "This new device can be manufactured quickly, efficiently and at volume. It is designed to address the specific clinical needs of COVID-19 patients, and is suited to a variety of clinical settings."
He went on to say that his company has received an initial order for 10,000 of the new ventilators from the UK's government. He will additionally be donating 5,000 more units, 1,000 of which will go once again to the UK and the remaining 4,000 of which will go towards the international effort.
