Photo retouch controversies are to the Internet-going public what folks like Toronto Mayor Rob Ford are to late a night talk show hosts -- a layup, a guaranteed point of interest and/or ridicule.
For whatever reason (I'm not a shrink) we all love to see oddly distorted limbs, impossibly tiny waists and barely recognizable celebs in "Photoshop fail" cases.
The latest retouch bee in our collective bonnet is the uncovering (by intrepid Photoshop sleuths,
Jezebel.com) of "before" images from Lady Gaga's Versace ad campaign that hit magazines a couple of months ago.

The site, notorious for having ponied up big bucks for Lena Dunham's un-doctored Vogue shoot proofs, has unearthed "before" images of the 28-year-old pop star posing for the popular print promotion.
From the pages of Gaga fansite, Gaga Fresh, came four photos that show the provocative singer looking like
herself. In the ones that have been made all pretty and perfect she looks great but not like Stefani Joanna Angelina Germanotta. Is that the point? Is she supposed to look perfect-skinned and hella coiffed and otherwise Barbie-fied? If so, why hire Gaga to be the face of your brand in the first place? (Other than the fact that she's Donatella's BFF.)
